This unisex design pendant features a gem mounted within a looped ribbon that also forms a rigid bail, style # 73 of our online design selection catalog. The gem is mounted with four wire prongs into a low, open-backed basket for additional light entrance into the gemstone.
Specifics:
The gemstone is a natural purple Amethyst gemstone from Burma. This natural gem is moderately heavily included and has had no treatment. It has colorful flashes of pink purple when the light hits it. It is measuring about 6.9 x 3.5 mm oval. Amethyst is the birthstone for February. This purple color of Quartz has a hardness of 7 and is tough, suitable for frequent wear even in rings.
The entire piece measures 20 mm in length and will accommodate up to 2 mm diameter size chains.
We started this project by melting down fine silver and pure copper to create an ingot of 93% silver alloy. Consequently our alloys are a little on the rich side of .925 Sterling. Copper alone is the remaining 7%. We do not add base metal in our alloy so there is less chance for any allergic reaction.
