Design:
This style is a ladies pair of earrings, design # 581 of our online design selection catalog. This sturdy pair of earrings uses four gemstones to create a drop dangle design. Three chain links separate the gems and allow the dangle between the two. This is a post style with removable backs. The post are notched to help the back stay put. The basket bezels on the top gems are solid full bezels with open backs for better light entrance into the gems. The dangling gems have a complete wrap around bezels and are fully open on the backs for maximum light entrance and show of the gemstones.
Specifics:
The two pairs of gems are lab created red Ruby and natural White colorless Zircon from Cambodia. These Ruby are expertly hand faceted 8.5 mm square cushion shapes weighing about 4 carat together with SI1 slight to moderately included clarity. Originally created by the flame fusion process then quench cracked and reheated with Borax to mimic natural Rubies with inclusions. The White Zircons are 6.5 mm well faceted rounds weighing about 3 carats together and have eye clean clarity.
These earrings are made of both Sterling silver and 18K gold. The solid 18K gold forms the bezels and the chain between the two. We alloy our 18K with 76% fine gold and the remaining 24% with fine silver and pure copper. The backs and post are Sterling silver, fine silver and pure copper 93% silver alloy. We do not add base metal in our alloys so there is less chance for any allergic reaction.
The weight of this well built, handcrafted pair is about 6.3 grams after polishing.

Our technique:
All of our jewelry is made with the old fashioned hand hammered technique. We start by alloying an ingot then proceed with hammering, rolling, filing, sawing, soldering, drilling, sanding and polishing. We do not sell castings and never use glue in our heirloom quality jewelry.
